The short version

We do not have user accounts and we do not run a database of visitors. The only personal information we ever hold is an email address you typed in yourself, plus whatever you wrote in a message to us. Analytics cookies are off until you accept them. We never sell anything to anyone.

Who we are

GutWise publishes educational content about the low-FODMAP diet at gutwise.nexudel.com. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, contact hello@gutwise.nexudel.com.

What we collect

1. Your email address, if you give it to us

When you request the Starter Kit, your email address is checked for validity and passed straight through to our email service provider. It is held in memory only for the moment that takes — this site has no database, and nothing is written to disk on our side. The subscriber record lives with the provider. We use it to send the download and occasional related content, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

2. Anything you send through the contact form

Your name, email address, chosen topic and message. These are validated and forwarded to our email inbox; nothing is written to a database. We keep the message as long as needed to deal with it and then delete it. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.

3. Analytics, only if you accept

We use two analytics tools, and they behave differently:

  • Google Analytics 4 — sets cookies, and is not loaded at all until you press Accept. This is stronger than the common approach: many sites load the Google tag immediately and merely tell it not to store cookies, which still sends data to Google before you have chosen. We do not fetch the tag until you accept. If you decline, no Google code ever runs and nothing is stored on your device. Lawful basis: consent.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics — sets no cookies, uses no client-side state and does not fingerprint or track you across sites. It counts page views in aggregate. Because it processes no personal data, it runs without a consent prompt. Lawful basis: legitimate interest.

4. Server logs

Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to serve the site and to protect it from attack and abuse. This is ordinary infrastructure logging and we do not use it to build any profile of you. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in site security and availability.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with anyone.
  • We do not run advertising cookies or retargeting pixels.
  • We have no user accounts, so there are no passwords to leak.
  • We do not ask for, want, or knowingly store any health information about you. Please do not send us medical details — we cannot act on them, and we would rather not hold them.

Cookies and similar technologies

Only two categories exist on this site. Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics after you accept, and typically last up to two years. Local storage holds two small values: your cookie choice, so we stop asking, and whether you dismissed the mobile banner. Neither is sent to any server.

To change your mind after choosing, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will appear again.

Outbound links

We use no affiliate links and no tracking links. Where we link to a manufacturer or retailer it is a plain link, and nothing is appended to it to identify you or to attribute a purchase to us. Once you follow a link you are on that company's site and under their privacy policy, not ours. See how we are funded for the full picture.

Third parties we rely on

  • Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, bot protection and cookieless analytics.
  • Google Analytics — consent-gated audience measurement.
  • Our email provider — stores subscriber addresses and sends the Starter Kit.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU, or a jurisdiction with comparable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent at any time.

In practice this is simple, because we hold very little. Email hello@gutwise.nexudel.com and we will action the request within 30 days. Unsubscribing from an email removes you from the list immediately without needing to ask us.

If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.

Data transfers and security

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards. The site is served over HTTPS with HSTS enforced, and because we operate no database and store no credentials, the surface available to an attacker is deliberately minimal.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
